The Summer School in Global Studies focuses on globally shared issues such as global economies and inequalities, major trends that affect contemporary geopolitics and geo-economy, development and environment. Module A - Globalization tendencies and its evolution Module B - Climate change: policies and implications Module C - Country Profile Workshop Students enrolling in all three modules will receive credits following evaluation during the Country Profile Workshop. Period: 3- 21 July, 2023 Classical Chinese and Japanese The Summer School in Classical Chinese and Classical Japanese/Kanbun is unique in its kind. Organised in collaboration with Princeton University, it offers two tracks of comprehensive, grammar-focused instruction taught by Faculty members from both Ca’ Foscari and Princeton. The programme is designed especially for students who wish to develop their linguistic expertise for graduate study in any discipline of premodern China or Japan. Contemporary Art & Curatorship: from documenta to the Biennale In partnership with Uni Kassel (Kassel, Germany), this summer school provides students a unique insight into the management of two of the world’s most renowned contemporary art exhibitions, La Biennale di Venezia, and documenta, with two separate but interconnected modules in Kassel and in Venice. Module 1: “Inside Arts” (Uni Kassel, Germany) Module 2: “Curatorship of Contemporary Art” (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy) Period: 17 June-14 July, 2023 (2 weeks + 2 weeks) Where we are Our campus is at Palazzina Briati, in the historical centre of Venice, close to Ca’ Foscari’s main campus, and to local transport. Arrival Summer School students coming from abroad receive comprehensive pre-departure arrival information and assistance with the visa process, as well as access to University libraries (open late), cafeterias, wifi, and more. Housing Students will have the possibility of requesting accommodation in a double or a single room at one of two student residences in the Venice city center at a reduced price.
